Our Story

Built on Honest Work. Named for Someone Who Never Quit.

How a childhood spent fixing things, a brother’s fight, and a belief in doing the job right became the foundation of Unstoppable Handyman.

Where It Started

Some people grow up playing sports. I grew up fixing things.

Not because I had to — because I wanted to know how things worked. A broken hinge. A faucet that dripped all night. A gate that wouldn’t swing right. These weren’t problems to ignore. They were puzzles worth solving.

Growing up, there was always something in the house that needed attention, and somewhere along the way I learned that the people who could fix it were the people others leaned on. That stuck with me.

I wasn’t chasing a career in the trades. I was just someone who showed up, paid attention, and took pride in leaving things better than I found them. That instinct eventually turned into a business — but the instinct came first.

The Philosophy

Small repairs aren’t small to the people who need them.

I’ve been in a lot of homes in San Diego County. East County, South Bay, Chula Vista, La Mesa, Santee — all of it. And what I’ve learned is that homeowners don’t call because they want someone impressive. They call because something’s wrong and they need someone they can trust to fix it without making it worse.

That’s the whole job. Show up. Do it right. Explain what you did. Leave.

“A leaking faucet isn’t a small problem if you’re the one listening to it drip at 2 in the morning.”

I built Unstoppable Handyman around the jobs most contractors don’t want to take — the grab bar installs, the stuck doors, the smoke detectors that need replacing, the fence repairs that have been on the list for two years. The work that actually matters to real homeowners living in real houses.

No upselling. No pressure. No project too small to treat professionally. That’s been the operating principle from day one.

In Memory — John Sladish

“Unstoppable” isn’t a marketing word. It’s a name we earned the hard way.

My brother John was part of this from the beginning. Not just the business — the whole idea of it. He understood craftsmanship the way musicians understand sound. He had that same quiet pride in making something work, something last, something matter.

John battled stomach cancer. Had his stomach removed. Kept going. He fought longer and harder than anyone should have to, with a kind of dignity that didn’t ask for attention or sympathy. He just kept showing up.

When he passed, I had a choice. I could step back, or I could carry it forward. Calling the business Unstoppable felt like the only honest thing to do. It wasn’t a brand decision. It was a declaration — that the work continues, that the standard stays, that cutting corners isn’t something we do.

John loved the trades. He loved music, drumming, building things with his hands. He was proud of blue-collar work in a way that didn’t need defending. This business is partly his, even now.

What We Are Now

A handyman business run the way it should be run.

Unstoppable Handyman operates out of San Diego County — East County, South Bay, Chula Vista, and most areas in between. I’m a working owner. I’m on most of the jobs. I see the work firsthand, and I’m responsible for it.

We’re not the cheapest option. We’re also not the kind of company that talks you into work you don’t need. What we are is consistent: you get a real response, a clear estimate, and someone who actually cares whether the job was done right.

I’m a father of four. My kids are homeschooled. I understand what it means to run a tight household, protect a home, and make thoughtful decisions about where money goes. That perspective shapes how I treat every customer — not as a transaction, but as a neighbor.

“No shortcuts. No excuses. Just the work.”

The name Unstoppable isn’t about hype. It’s about what happens when you’re committed to something bigger than the next job — when the work itself becomes how you honor what matters. That’s what we’re building. One repair at a time, in homes across San Diego County, with the same hands-on care that started all of this.
